Carolyn Knight
Creator of WordTap
Hi! My name is Carolyn. I’ve been teaching English as a second language for the past 15 years. I created WordTap as a vocabulary tool to help my students learn over 2500 of the most frequently used words in English. When I saw the results I consulted with translators from around the world and so far have been able to include 10 languages. Give it a try, it’s free!

Repetition Works
There's no dispute. Every language learning method uses repetition. But learning new vocabulary doesn’t have to be boring or tedious. While you try to score points in WordTap, your brain will learn to recognize words in a foreign language on sight through constant repetition. This is the key to fluency. Learn words in a foreign language quickly and in a way that your brain will remember them well. Play WordTap.

It doesn't have to be hard!
Except for a lucky few, throughout life we've been taught that learning has to be serious, time-consuming, and a lot of work. But does it have to be? Do sports fans have to study hours to remember their favorite team's stats? Is it really hard to remember what happened on your favorite tv show? Of course not! Our hope at WordTap is that you'll have just as much fun playing and unconsciously absorbing new vocabulary.
Repeat! Repeat! Repeat!
Research shows that the best way to learn vocabulary in a foreign language is to see and use the words over and over. Repetition tells your brain that something is important and needs to be recorded.
Using WordTap your brain will look for the right foreign words while you play the game. The more your brain sees the words while you try to gather points, the better you’ll remember it.
WordTap is designed to be challenging and fun, but teach you words without having to sit and repeat a list over and over again.
On the personal and multigame dashboards you can add your own words. Add your homework vocabulary list or words that relate to your work. Teachers can create their own version for students to learn vocabulary words much faster and send them links to the custom games.
"A written word is the choicest of relics. It is something at once more intimate with us and more universal than any other work of art. It is the work of art nearest to life itself. It may be translated into every language, and not only be read but actually breathed from all human lips; -- not be represented on canvas or in marble only, but be carved out of the breath of life itself."
- Henry David Thoreau
